Simultaneous measurements of burning velocity and temperature distribution of combustion using UV laser Rayleigh scattering

نویسندگان

چکیده

Planar temperature images using laser Rayleigh scattering have been obtained to determine the spatial distribution of in a constant volume combustion chamber. Burning velocities were also measured from pressures and calculated flame surface area images. A high power KrF excimer was used as light source gain ICCD camera obtain Methane/air premixed at different equivalence ratios initial tested. Since thermodynamics are well known, chamber can be reference device for diagnostics temperatures combustion. With technique, burning velocity simultaneously single-shot light. An additional experiment is described which yields cross sections wavelength 248 nm. The experimental results show an excellent agreement with previous data.

Rayleigh scattering temperature measurements were obtained in a turbulent reactive swirling coaxial jet discharged from a swirl-stabilized burner along the jet-flame centerline. They are reported up to 10 fuel nozzle diameters downstream of the burner exit at a Reynolds number of 29000. The effect of swirl numbers (S=0.3, 0.58, 1.07) on the temperature fields, the power spectral density of temp...

Diode laser measurements of concentration and temperature in microgravity combustion

Diode laser absorption spectroscopy provides a direct method of determinating species concentration and local gas temperature in combustion flames. Under microgravity conditions, diode lasers are particularly suitable, given their compact size, low mass and low power requirements. The development of diode laser-based sensors for gas detection in microgravity is presented, detailing measurements...

Group-velocity-dispersion measurements of atmospheric and combustion-related gases using an ultrabroadband-laser source.

The use of femtosecond-laser sources for the diagnostics of combustion and reacting-flow environments requires detailed knowledge of optical dispersive properties of the medium interacting with the laser beams. Here the second- and third-order dispersion values for nitrogen, oxygen, air, carbon dioxide, ethylene, acetylene, and propane within the 700-900 nm range are reported, along with the pr...
